This site was dedicated to the 1st Women's Conference of the ITUC in Brussels (October 19-21) and the Decisions for Life Global Partner meeting (October 22-23).

Stories on this site were created voluntarily by ten journalists who usually work for WageIndicator (Decisions for Life) websites. All journalists had the freedom to write, and the stories were not censored. The stories do not necessarily reflect the official point of view of any organisation. Although the site will stay online forever, please follow news after October 23 2009, at the ITUC site  and at the Decisions for Life website.

Day Two: The day featured many lively discussions about how to involve women in trade union work, how to make priorities of childcare and maternity leave in collective agreements, and how to get young women interested in trade union membership. Groups also looked at exciting new ways to use technology and fresh ideas to get their message across. >>

Conference concludes on a high note

The 1st World Women's Conference concluded on a high note, as over 450 women from around the globe vowed to carry the struggle forward. >>
